Our ongoing commitment to the protection of your privacy is essential to maintaining the relationship of trust that exists between BoardLinkStL and all of the nonprofit organizations, individuals, partners, sponsors and other visitors to the site. This Privacy Policy is intended to help you understand our information security practices.
The Information We Collect
You may have accessed BoardLinkStL directly by visiting our Web site, the home page of which is located at www.boardlinkstl.org, or through the Web site of one of our third party partners with whom we have teamed to provide board service opportunities (Alliance members). This Policy applies to all personally identifiable information you submit to BoardLinkStL, whether through the BoardLinkStL Web site or through the Web site of one of our Alliance members. Please note that we cannot be responsible for the information you submit to our Alliance members, who may have their own posted policies regarding collection of information. We urge you to review the policies of our Alliance members through whom you may access our services. The personally identifiable information we currently collect from you includes name, address, telephone number, email, and/or other contact information (Information). However, the Policy may be revised at any time and the extent of the Information that we collect from you may change.
How We Use Information
We use the Information we collect about you to facilitate the connecting process and to provide information to you about BoardLinkStL and related industry topics. We use return email to answer the e-mail we receive. Please be aware that, to the extent required to provide our services, we may share your Information with individuals, nonprofit organizations, or Alliance members, as applicable.
For Individuals
If you indicate to us that you are interested in a particular board service opportunity we will forward your Information to the nonprofit organization that is hosting that opportunity so that the organization can contact you regarding your potential involvement, and, if the particular nonprofit organization has a regional or national office or is closely affiliated with a related nonprofit organization, then we may also share your Information with them.
For Nonprofit Organizations
If you submit Information to us as a nonprofit organization, then, subject to the terms and conditions as a nonprofit member of BoardLinkStL, your Information will be accessible by individuals interested in board service in your organization from BoardLinkStL or the BoardLinkStL administrator.
Nonprofit organizations that receive e-mail addresses from potential board candidates are strongly encouraged to adopt privacy standards similar to those of BoardLinkStL. Each such organization, however, has its own policies regarding collection and use of personally identifiable information, and we are not responsible for their collection or use of your personally identifiable information. Inappropriate collection or use of personally identifiable information received from BoardLinkStL may jeopardize membership with BoardLinkStL. BoardLinkStL reserves the right to determine, at its discretion, what constitutes inappropriate use of this information.
Third-party Access and Use
Occasionally, we hire third-party service providers to help us provide or improve the services we offer you. Sometimes it is necessary for these providers to have access to the Information we collect about you. If you are a nonprofit member or an individual, you may access all of your Information that we collect and maintain online by simply inputting your Login-ID and password in the login area. You may make any changes or correct factual errors in your Information at any time. We use this procedure to better safeguard your personally identifiable information. Our Commitment to Data Security (United Way of Greater St. Louis)
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of Information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the Information we collect online. In the unlikely event that United Way of Greater St. Louis, the organization that operates BoardLinkStL, undergoes a sale or transfer of all or substantially all of its assets, the acquiring entity will be subject to this Privacy Policy in its use of your Information. In addition, in the further unlikely event that United Way of Greater St. Louis is adjudicated bankrupt or insolvent (a) there will be no further use or disclosure of your Information by United Way of Greater St. Louis and (b) your Information will be destroyed. In addition, there will be no use or disclosure of your Information by any entity that acquires assets of United Way of Greater St. Louis pursuant to such bankruptcy or insolvency proceedings.
